Frequently Asked Questions

  • All speech and reading therapy is conveniently provided virtually via teletherapy.

  • We are a private-pay practice and do not bill insurance directly. This allows us to provide individualized care without the restrictions that often come with insurance-based services, such as limits on session length, frequency, and treatment goals.

Upon request, a superbill can be provided that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

Coverage varies by plan, so we recommend contacting your insurance provider to learn more about your benefits.

  • Literacy therapy is provided by a licensed speech-language pathologist with advanced training in literacy education. It addresses the underlying language skills needed for reading and writing, including:

    • Phonological awareness

    • Decoding

    • Spelling

    • Vocabulary

    • Grammar

    • Reading comprehension

    • Written expression

Unlike tutoring, literacy therapy targets the root causes of reading and writing difficulties rather than focusing only on homework help or test preparation.

  • Virtual sessions are interactive, engaging, and individualized. Sessions may include:

    • Games and digital activities

    • Shared reading

    • Visual supports

    • Movement and hands-on tasks

    • Parent coaching and home strategies

Families are often surprised by how effective online therapy can be.

  • You may want to seek an evaluation if your child:

    • Is difficult to understand.

    • Has trouble following directions.

    • Struggles to express thoughts clearly.

    • Has difficulty learning letter sounds or reading words.

    • Avoids reading or writing.

    • Becomes frustrated with schoolwork.

If you are unsure, we offer consultations to discuss your concerns.

  • The process is simple:

    1. Schedule a free consultation.

    2. Complete intake paperwork.

    3. Participate in an evaluation (if needed).

    4. Begin therapy with an individualized plan.
